' the ridgeof a piece of elevated ground ' ; the latter is the sense here as the lane runs along the line where the hill - side begins again to fall steeply ( cf. hryggr ' ridge ' , - ing 1 ) ; cf. also Long Riggin f.n. 170 infra .
