Etymology

Binn Royd, Bynroid 1536 Rent, Bynrood 1538MinAcct 56, Byndroyd 1579 PRHfx, Bynneroyde 1587 WYD, Binroid 1647 PREll, Binroyd 1684 Watson, on formal grounds probably from OE  binn 'a stall' rather than the surname Binns (which was, however, that of a Norland family, 16 HAS 4, 107), and rod 1 'clearing'; cf. Binn ii, 277supra and the f.n. Hudebynnes (infra ).
