Castle Hill, 1633 HAS 44, 29, le Castelhill 1399 YD iv, the Castill hill 1454 ib, v. castel , hyll , alluding to a circular earthwork, said to be Danish, on the top of the hill (cf. Stansf 14, Watson 60).
