Etymology

Yoad Pot [ˈjɔ:dpɔt], 1836KCR , Yodpott 1622 PR(K), Yeadpott (sic for Yoadpott )1627 ib. Whilst the forms are not early enough to make the origin certain, this is most probably from ON  jalda 'nag, mare', v. potte 'pit, hollow'.
