Cayrus howse 1584 BRK, named from a well- known long established local family of Cayrus , Kayrus , Carus , Cayrous , Carehus , Kerhus , etc. 1274 Kend i, 133, 1390, 1409 ib 31, 36, 1546 ib 86, 1574 PR(K), 1575 BRK, etc.v. grēne 2 , which is often combined with family names, as in Stainbank Green i, 121infra , etc.
