Mankyn Close 1579Dep , Manking close 1589MinAcct , Munkin close 1580Rent ; in the 1579Dep m. 4, a witness deponed that 'he knoweth the said close called Mankin close and so haith knowen the same by the same name by the space of three score yeres, but not by the name of Lawe Inge ontill now of laite…the said close was letten by lease to one Mankin abowte three score, yeres since'. The surname is ME  Manekin .
