Etymology

Bollershaw (lost), Bollers (c )haw (es )1459 FountBurs, 1535 VE, 1540 Fount, 1553 FF, 1839TA , Bollershayes 1496FountRent , Bolershawe 1615 FF. 'Boiler's copse', v. sceaga . The first el. is a nickname from ME  bollere 'a tippler, drunkard'. According to the TA map (fields 1135, 1139) Bollershaw was at grid point 91–200663.
