, named from Waterpot 1811 OS which is marked where the road N to Beaminster ( here called Waterpot Hill ) crosses a valley on the par . bdy ; perhaps referring to a water trough for animals , from water-pot ' vessel for holding water ' ( 1382 NED ) , cf. also the small stream rising just E of here at a spring marked 6 ″ .
