The name means 'the new house', from nīwe and bold (bōðl), with mǣd and bæce 1 . This place may also be Neuton H3AddCh , 128 supra . It was probably located in the eastern part of Edlaston township about 110–6451. Orm2 iii 386 recites the inclusion in the manor in 1348 of a lane from Edleston supra to the rivulet of a mill at Shrewbridge 131supra . There is an appropriate moated site at 110–638507, cf.
