Etymology

'Cēolmund's farm', from the OE  pers.n, Cēolmund and tūn, as in Chelmondiston Sf (DEPN). The same pers.n., and perhaps the same person, figures in Cholmondeley 325infra , five miles distant, v. grēne , hall , cf. foll. and Mondrem 1 10.
