Sidney Fm is Southny or Sydny (1574 Rowe), Southney (1606Recov ), Sidny (1609 ParReg) and gave name to Wm Bysuthenee (1296 SR) and Thos Southene (1398Ct ). 'South of the water,' v. ea . The farm is on comparatively high ground just south of the Ouse.
