Bramhall (part now included in Hazel Grove cum Bramhall c.p. and part in Stockport county borough c.p. The former includes Woodford 217supra , Norbury and Torkington infra , and part (formerly all) of Bosden 256supra , and formerly included Offerton infra , cf. Hazel Grove 256supra ), 2. Bredbury (now part of Bredbury and Romiley c.p., which with Romiley infra includes Compstall, formerly a c.p. formed out of parts of Werneth, Brinnington infra ), 3. Brinnington (v. Bredbury supra , Stockport infra ), 4. Disley Stanley (from which Newtown was transferred to Db in 1894, v. Db 155), 5. Dukinfield (a detached township, made a municipal borough 1899, part now included in Stalybridge c.p. 305 infra , but now including parts of Matley 312infra and of Newton 316infra ), 6. Hyde (made a municipal borough 1881, now including Godley 306infra , Newton 316infra , and parts of Werneth infra , of Hattersley 307infra , and of Matley 312infra ), 7. Marple (now a c.p. including Mellor and Ludworth from Db), 8. Norbury (v. Bramhall supra ), 9. Offerton (v. Bramhall supra , Stockport infra ), 10. Romiley (v. Bredbury supra ), 11. Stockport (an ancient borough (1220), a county borough (1835), and a c.p. now including Offerton supra , and part of Bosden 256supra , from Hazel Grove cum Bramhall c.p., and parts of Brinnington supra , cf. Cheadle 246supra , and of Bramhall supra , as well as Heaton, Reddish and Sandfold in La), 12. Torkington (v. Bramhall supra ), 13. Werneth (dismembered in the nineteenth century, part included in Hyde supra , the remainder, formerly Compstall c.p., is now included in Bredbury and Romiley c.p., v. Bredbury supra ). In this or Mottram in Longdendale parish was probably the site of the lost place Hofinchel , Hofinghel DB, v. 165supra .
