' hot hill ' , v. hāt ( ME  hot (e ) ) ' hot ' and hyll , alluding to warm ground , probably on account of a sheltered and sunny situation . The first el . has been replaced by āte ' oats ' , the second by hygel ' ahillock ' , in Oathile 1777 .
