Etymology

'Lark hill', from lāferce and dūn (the second el. replaced by tūn 'a farmstead, a village' and denu 'a valley'), with hall , hyll . Cf. Dean's Lane infra . The hill is the southern end of Peckforton Hills 3312supra .
