Etymology

'Enclosure or farmstead at a dairy hamlet', from stoc and tūn , with hǣð , hall and dingle . The heath adjoined Oldcastle Heath, and is the location of Old Castle Smithy 1831 Bry, 1860 White, v. smiððe , cf. Oldcastle 44supra .
