Etymology

The first identification is by no means certain. If correct, the name means 'Lulla's fold,' v. falod . For a similar reduction cf. Lyminster infra 169 and Lowbrook (Do), 1263 Ipm Lollebrok and Lowden (W), 1258 Ch Lolledon . Otherwise, it must be of late origin and named from its situation.
