Fletchings and Flitchfold Fm (both 6″) are recorded as Flitchfield and Flitchings in 1612 (SRS 3, 3), Flitchfould al. Flitchings in 1614 (SRS 14, 138). The relation of the names to one another and their interpretation is obscure.
