'Willow valley', v. salh (gen.pl. sala ), denu ; the Sel -, Seal - spellings may represent OE  sele2 'willow-copse'. This may in fact be identical with on Salhdune 11 (14) Finb 187, which seems to have been on the Deerhurst-Tewkesbury boundary near Salter's Hill at grid 143–89298, but the suffix is dūn 'hill'.
