Etymology

'Tetti 's burh.' This pers. name is not on record but would be the strong form of Tetta (v. Tedburn infra 451) found in Tettan monasterium (BCS 59) and Tettanbyrig (BCS 1320), now Tetbury (Gl). Cf. also Tetsworth (O), Tetteswrth (e )1209–12 Fees, 1278 RH. For ch , cf. s. n. Eddistone supra 72.
