Etymology

'Cyneðrȳð 's ford,' v. ford . In view of there being only one late form with genitival s , the fem. name Cyneðryð seems more probable than the masc. Cynered . Note also the second d of the 1371 form. The ford is just south of the church. There was also a Kynridehurst in the parish in 1271 (Ass ).
