Etymology

'The nook of land of Cylla's folk', v. -ingas , halh (which here denotes the hollow formed by a small valley in the hillside). On the OE  pers.n. Cylla or the strong form Cylli , which are not recorded, cf. Kelling Nf (Ekwall, PN -ing 79), Kilcott Gl (on Cyllincgcotan BCS 1282) and Kelscott Sx 117.
