  • Cradocke-howse 1653 Wheater

Etymology

Craddock, Cradocke-howse 1653 Wheater, probably an old British stream-name similar to Craddock D 538, for the origin of which Ekwall has suggested either an elliptical p.n. with the pers.n. Cradoc or a stream-name corresponding to Bret  karadek 'amiable'; on the form cf. Jackson 688–9. A small stream rises here.
