Scholebrook, Sculebroc 1229 Ebor, Sculbruke 1430 Stansf, Sculbroke 1529 TestLds, Scolebruk 1457 WillY. 'Skuli's brook', from the ON  pers.n. Skúli (well-evidenced in ME, cf. NP 124, ZEN 77) and brōc.The modern form has been influenced by such names as Scholes, Scholecroft, etc.
