Etymology

Easthouse (6″) is probably in that part of Henfield which was known as Esthenfeld (p) in 1296 (SR). Here may have lived Henry de Estetoun (1296 SR) or William Estoute (1327 SR), i.e. east out, cf. Westout infra 320.
