Prinkham Fm is Prinkeham 1207 Cur (p)et freq to 1362 IpmR, Prynkeham (m )e 1263Ass , 1312AOMB , 1408 Cl, Prinkham , Pringham 1341 Pat, Pringeham 1403 IpmR, and would seem to contain the same first element as Prinknash (PN Gl 124), Prinkenesse in 1121 (StPGl). This may, as suggested by Professor Ekwall and Dr Ritter, be a personal name derived from OE  princ , 'prick, sudden movement.'
