Etymology
Feldemore is Feldemore 1677, Feldmore 1758Rental , Feldemore in Sheire 1713Ct . 'Marshy ground near the feld,' v. Felday supra 249. The present house is modern and in Abinger, but the name probably had reference earlier to the land in the valley below, which is just in Shere parish.
