Etymology

Stonebridge (lost), Stonebruge 1327 SR (p), 1449MinAcct , Stonebrigge 1494 ib, Stanbrygge 1546FF . 'Stone-built bridge', v. stān , brycg .Its location in the parish has not been determined; it is possibly simply a variant of Stean Bridge (prec.), where ME  sten - was regarded as from stǣnen 'made of stone' and so could be replaced by stān , stone .
