Etymology

Toad Hole (lost, 100–297895, on Bidston Ave., opposite Alderney Ave.), Toad Hole 1746 Par Reg, 1842 OS, TAMap , Toad Hole Farm , Toad Hole Common & Toad Hole Field 1824Lawton , Toad Hole Field 1838TA , probably 'fox-hole', v. tod-hole, but a derogatory sense 'toad's hole' is possible, v. tāde .R.S.B. judged this to be the site of The Taskar supra .
