Etymology

'Kere's farmstead', v. . This is the ODan., OSwed  byname Kærer , ON  Kǽrir , as also in the Norw  p.n. Kjelsbøl (NG iii, 182, LindBN). The single Keuer - spelling is difficult to account for, but might possibly point to a first el. similar to that in Keresforth i, 302supra , but the former seems preferable.
