Calverley

Parish in the County of West Riding of Yorkshire

Etymology

Three of the townships in this parish, Calverley, Farsley (which was formerly part of Calverley cum Farsley township, 1822 Langd) and Pudsey, now constitute the Municipal Borough of Pudsey. The township of Idle is now within the County Borough of Bradford (241infra ). Bolton (243infra ) was formerly a township in Calverley parish but was subsequently united with Idle (1872 O.S.) and with Idle is now in the County Borough of Bradford.
