Etymology

Reddingbridge (lost) is Redenbryge (1404), Ryudingbreg (1460), Redyngbreg (1471) all from Court Rolls , Redynbregge (1487 AD i), Redynbrigge (1483 ib.) and was the home of John de Redyngebregg in 1296 (SR). This is probably 'brycg by the hryding' (or clearing), though that word is rare in Sussex.
