Landhurst (6″) is Lanherst 1107–23 SAC 58, 174, Lanhurst 1288Ass (p), Lanerst 1332 SR (p), Lanehurst 1579DuLa . The wood is at the end of a lane (OE  lane , lanu ) and that may be the meaning of the compound. The modern form is clearly corrupt.
