Sussex Fm
Early-attested site in the Parish of Send with Ripley
Etymology
Sussex Fm is so named in 1823 (G). According to M and B (iii, 108), lands in Sussex and in Send were conveyed in 1674 to John Caryll of Goodwood and others. In 1688 these passed to new trustees, viz. John Caryll of Harting and Henry Arundell and Richard Caryll of West Grinstead. The name Sussex Farm may have been given to the place some time during the association of Send with these Sussex families.
