Stychens Cottages (6″) is field called Stiche 1434, Stychell 1523, Stychens 1528 (LBl), Stichinges 1605 SAC xxiv, Le Stychens 1680 SAC vi. This must be the OE stycce , 'piece,' occasionally found in field-names. The later suffixes are unexplained.
