Etymology

Tillworth (Dairy) (ST 332002), Tillworth Farm 1769DROMap , 1842TA , Tilworth 1811 OS. In PN D 656, this name is associated with Elleworth (e )1327 SR, 1344 PN D both (p), and interpreted as 'Ella's worð', with initial T - explained as from OE  æt. However it is much more likely that these surname forms (the first that of a taxpayer in Philleyholme tithing) belong to Elworth in Abbotsbury par. supra which has precisely this etymology. Without early spellings the first el. of Tillworth must be left open, but it may be the OE  pers.n. Tila , found e.g. in Tillerton PN D 429, with worð 'enclosed settlement'.
