Aldredelie (lost), Aldredelie 1086 DB (v. Tait 107), the name of a lost manor of Roelau hundred, listed with the earl of Chester's manors of Frodsham, Done (v. 161supra ) and Eddisbury, probably appears in Alderlegh '- knolle 1353ChFor , Alderdelegh …1357ib , a place within the Forest of Delamere and in Kingsley. The p.n. is 'Ælfðryð's, or Æðelðrȳð's, clearing or wood', from the OE  fem. pers.n. Ælfðryð or Æðelðrȳð , and lēah , with cnoll 'a hill, a knoll'. Cf. Alderley 194.
