Saucelands (6″) is Sawceland al. Sawceryes 16th (Ct ), Sawceland 1606 (SRS 14, 49) and is to be associated with the family of Thos ate Sauserye (1327 SR). There is a similar pers. name in the Kentish SR for this date. It was evidently a place where salting was carried on in medieval times.
