Etymology

River's Fm and Wood are Riversland 1592 SRS 14, 148, Rivers wood c. 1600 SRS 17, 199. Cf. also Reveres mede c. 1470 SAC 2, 323. This gave name to Wm Ryvere (1372Banco ). They stand on a well-marked hill and are derived from OE  yfre. Cf. Riverhill and River supra 102, 123.
