Etymology
The ecclesiastical parish of Plemstall contained the townships, 1. Hoole (this was partly in St John's parish, Chester, but it is now divided into Hoole Village c.p. and the Hoole district of Chester county borough), 2. Picton, 3. Mickle Trafford (which included Plemstall hamlet).
