Etymology

'Bark's farmstead', v. tūn . The ON  pers.n. Bǫrkr , which occurs in Y DB as Barch (Feilitzen 192), found also in Barkisland iii, 57supra , has the OE  gen. form Barkes in place of the normal ON  gen. Barkar .
