Etymology

'The bee-keepers' farm', v. bīcere , tūn , and cf. Bickerton iv, 247supra . This place is thought to have been in Newall (cf. G. E. Kirk, Thoresby xxxvii, 202); it was in the DB manor of Otley in Gereburg Wapentake (1supra ).
