Gillridge Fm is Golderege 1285Bay , Gelderegge 1291 Pap, Gelderugge 1291MinAcct (p), 1327 SR (p), Gulderugg '1292MinAcct (p), Gilderigge 1340 NI (p), Gildridge 1627 SRS 14, 5. Probably 'golden ridge,' with some reference to the colour of the soil or foliage, cf. Guildenhurst supra 153.
