Historical Forms

Etymology

Dinglesden was perhaps the home of Adam de Tingelden (1279Ass ). The forms are scanty and difficult but the first element may be the same as that in Finglesham (K), þenglesham BCS 403. That seems to be a derivative of OE  þengel , 'prince.'
