Etymology

Knockbridge is Knockebregge 1306 HMC v.504, Knokebrugg '1327 SR (both p), Knokebr 'gg 1378Ct . It is on a small hill (cf. Knock Hatch supra 409). The bridge may be that across Pannel Sewer below.
