Etymology

'The people of Heort,' v. ing and PN in -ing 59. For a name of this type, not actually on record, v. Hartlebury (PN Wo 245).The form Heart - is an error for Heort -. The plural form lingered specially late here owing to the existence of the four separate hamlets.
