Etymology

Flood (lost) is Flodland in 1477 (Sele), Floode in 1479 (IpmR), Flode in 1500 (Ipm) and must have been the home of Robert de Flode (1256 Sele), John de Floude , Flode (1327, 1332 SR). It was probably somewhere on the downs, v. flod .
