Sattenham is Sotenham 1303MinAcct , 1332 SR (p), 1340Loseley (p), 1342Ass (p), 1578 SAC xviii, Sottenham 1344Loseley (p), t. Ed 6Rental , 1684 Musters, Sateham 1599 SrWills, Sotnam t. Eliz Musters. 'Sota 's ham(m).' The OE  personal name Sōta is probably for earlier Swōta (this name is also on record), 'sweet one'; cf. a similar use of Swēta . No certainty is possible.
