Gillett 62n, comments “In the seventeenth century we begin to hear of Grimsby Farm, which may have been the local seat of this family [i.e. of Sir William Grimsby]. Its site is now occupied by the house … called the Cedars ”. He further notes that “there had been a family of this name in the town since the fourteenth century”.
