Catesthrop (lost), Cotustorp Hy 6AddCh , Catesthorp 1469 Cl, 1509 Pat, Gatesthorp 1482MinAcct . The first el. may be a ME pers.n. Ctfte, ultimately derived from ON  Káti as in Catesby (Nth 16); v. þrop 'a dependent outlying farmstead' (cf. Hatherop i, 36supra ).
