Etymology
A large part of Wootton F. infra (including Hogchester, Monkton Wyld and Penn) was formerly in this par. (1843TA ). Two small parts of the par. (Gerrard's Fm and Yard Fm) were transferred to Marshwood par. supra in 1884, likewise another part (Revelshay Fm) to Bettiscombe par. supra at the same date (Kelly).
